Homemade Dog Cigars

"Dog Cigars"

Ingredients

3 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
1/3 cup vegetable shortening
1 large egg
3/4 cup fresh beef, pork, lamb, or chicken drippings
2 cookie sheets or baking trays

This little one loves home made dog cigars!

Directions

1. Preheat oven at 350 F
2. Whisk the flour and dry milk
3. Using 2 knives, add the shortening until the mixture resembles a fine meal
4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg then add the meat drippings
5. Combine the 2 mixtures in a large bowl and blend until it pulls away from the sides of the bowl
6. Flour the baking trays, and break the dough into cigar shaped logs
7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or are a light golden brown
